Mission to Mission

Assisting people in the preparation and processing of their cross-cultural, ministerial, and life transitions to continue their Christian call to mission. Our guest was Julie Lupien - Executive Director of From Mission to Mission A native Chicagoan, Julie served overseas with the Volunteer Missionary Movement (VMM) in Zimbabwe and St. Kitts. Julie has been involved with From Mission to Mission since 1991. She has been the director since 2002. Originally known as F.R.O.M., or the Federation of Returned Overseas Missioners, the organization was started in 1980 by missioners who had served around the world and upon returning "home" found their re-entry the most difficult part of their experience. It became From Mission to Mission to reflect their belief that mission doesn't end when you return to your home culture and in recognition that those who serve domestically struggle with re-entry as well. Visit their website www.missiontomission.org for more information.

Mission Today

Mission Today : Most people think of mission only as someone going to another country to help and teach others. But, today missiologists (those who devote themselves to the study and promotion of mission) speak about the "Missio Dei", God’s mission, and how to participate in it on a daily basis, in our own lives. Sister Madge speaks with Fr. Sergius Wrobleski, a native Chicagoan from Holy Trinity Parish on the near northside, currently living in Cedar Lake, IN with a passion for the Word of God. Fr. Sergius Wroblewski has devoted his ministry to teaching and preaching the Bible as a Franciscan Friar of the Assumption Province.  Additionally, he was a missionary in South Africa for over 20 years.
